Which high school classes should I take?

I am going to be a sophomore in high school this fall and I want to take the classes that will give me the best chance of getting into either Stanford or UPenn.

Here are my Freshman year classes:
English 9 Honors
AP Human Geography
Chemistry
Health
Spanish 2
Algebra 2 Honors
Weights

In the coming years I have more free space for either electives, resources, or other AP classes. What do you guys suggest?

What courses are available to you? This is what I’m taking next year(first semester b/c I’m studying abroad second semester):

American literature honors (basically English 10)
AP JAVA
Honors Chemistry
PE/Health
French 3
Honors precalculus
US History

I’m also taking a linguistics course first semester at a university as well (which I recommend. I’m taking a course right now and I have and A and you sound smarter than me). Your course selection should depend on what interests you. Adcoms wanna see applicants with a passion for a particular thing. What are your extracurriculars? Those are also important. Maybe talk to guidance?

I’m a soph too btw

I play football, and that is what I really like to do. Obviously there are no classes related to that, but I am also interested in business. That is the major I think I want to study as well, so business classes might be a good option. But anyway, which college are you taking classes at? And how did you get signed up for that? Sounds very interesting.

When it comes to highly selective schools, they’re all looking for basically the same things academically, high achievement in a rigorous courseload. There’s no need to differentiate between colleges of this caliber.

What matters is that you’re taking the most demanding schedule your HS offers/permits.

As for football related things, you could try training the little kid players or volunteering at a camp. I’m a runner and I’m helping a few people lose weight and/or get healthier. I’m taking classes at the university of Rhode Island. If you look at the website for a state school you can find a non degree student application which generally people use if they already have a degree and they’re interested in a subject (usually old people) or students home for the summer looking for extra credits. It depends on the college. I was unable to do that at Rhode Island college so I guess it depends. Business has a lot of things involved with it. Do you know of an FBLA chapter near you?

Take the hardest classes possible and gets the highest grades possible if you’re looking for a top caliber school.

stay with a sport, athletics and academics are looked well upon if you manage to balance them both out

personally I do water polo
