My own opinion--I HATE when people say "why don't you just get along" or "stop fighting", on message boards. It is much better for two people to work out their differences or state their opinions such as momtoanUndecided and Keylyme are doing. They can agree to disagree, stop posting, etc... When other people jump in, and say "stop fighting", I find it a bit insulting and patronizing.

Nothing against you BrooklynGuy! :D Your post was actually very nice and thoughtful, and not the typical "Cut it out you guys!" type of comments. And "truce" is not a patronizing statement... Just putting my two cents in...

I would go to Stuyvesant> It is free and on par with the other two schools. This leaves you and your hard working parents with some cash to save for college, have some extras and travel. Why pay 35K and then also have to spend even more money to keep up with the rich kids at Trinity who can spend money as if they are multi mills? And, ah, do not say, "I do not need to keep up with the rich kids" ah, yes you do at that school or you are not wanted.
If you are a girl, at trins be prepared to have to spend lots o moola. So, why not go free, and then spend on what you want without breaking the bank?

to keylyme, thanks for speak out and understanding the original purpose of my posting.

to Momtoanundecided, this is betterschool's mother again, i found this site randomly and created this account and helped my kid to raised the question during my busy work hour and passed the account information to my kid (my kid treats me just like their sister, and my kid or any other kids always be able to talk with me through very open mind way). yes, I don't have good English(but had M.S. & B.S. in cs major and have a decent job and English is my 3rd language ), like Keylyme said, I read this site as it is a informational panel, a discussion board, as long as people understand my question and give some suggestions and opinions, I will really appreciate them. But I also understand your opinion and believe that you are serious & strict mom, but I think if you can say it through more polite way, people will thank you more.

More reliable source I derived from web site about prep school as below, just for share with all of you:
Search for Colleges and Universities, Graduate Schools, Online Degree, Private Schools - Peterson's
Private School Review - Profiles of USA Private Schools

Again, thanks for all of you whoever gives us wonderful suggestions. I also am very proud my kids, and believe, no matter which school they goes, they will success because the real life isn't just school.

Ps. I told my kids, if they go stuy or Andover/Exeter, their most competitors would be the kids came from out of US when they are between 8-10 years old. Although those kids have some lagging in English, but those kids are really bright, intelligent, have a solid foundation and are willing to work hard, once they catch up English, they will be perfect

Momtoanundecided, you were a bit harsh. Everyone should get a 'pass' in the final seven-day countdown to 3/10. It's a stressful week.

But your point was 100% correct. I too find it offputting when people abandon proper English in electronic communication. I believe that, if anything, electronic communication requires better grammar since the format is stripped of any indicia about the author. Without facial expressions, voice inflection, or even handwriting, the only means by which the reader can evaluate you is by word choice, grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Maybe I should change my member name to "old school" since this is very much a generational topic.
