I’m just curious, which honors program is the hardest to get in?
Plan II is probably the hardest, followed closely by Cockrell engineering and McCombs business. Could be some others, but those are the ones most discussed in terms of admission difficulty.
Also Turing (CS)
They’re all quite difficult to get into these days. The folks you hear about with subpar scores / ranks who got in are the exception. Go with the program that sounds like the best fit for you and not the one that sounds less competitive. I thought my son was a sure thing for LAH but he was admitted for Plan II and wait-listed for LAH. Why? Because he was a much better fit for Plan II based on his interests and extracurriculars, and the honors admissions directors could tell that from his application.
