I have the fortunate problem of having too many honors to fit in the common app and am not sure which to include. Also, Is it worth it to list the rest of the awards in the additional information section?
My awards:
Generic big awards (NMSF, AP something or other-w/ 3 APs, National Honor Society)
Big School Awards: Book award, Rensslear Medalist
Smaller school awards: School gives an award to the top student in each class. (eg. top student in honors chemistry, ap US history, etc). I have 4 of these. 2 are from science classes, 1 is from AP spanish, 1 is from english. I received 1 freshman year, 1 sophomore year, 2 junior year
Even smaller school awards: Each teacher gets to pick a student in each section and give them an award that essentially signifies, "you are a good kid. I liked teaching you" I received 2: 1 sophomore year, 1 freshman year.

I like that the awards show different aspects of me. Also, the smallest ones show that I actually enjoy learning, otherwise they would be easy for me to discard. Also, my school is a smaller public school (<200 kids per grade) but very good (often in top 100 in nation). What would other people recommend I include? Should I list the rest in my additional information section?

I’m iffy about AP scholar (if it were one of the higher designations, I would list it, but I think the highest level of this you can receive with three APs is AP scholar with honour, which doesn’t count for much - BTW, I’m an AP scholar with honour too, so I don’t mean this to sound condescending or anything), NHS (do you guys do anything as a group? If so, list it under activities, not awards), and the you-are-a-good-kid-I-liked-teaching-you award. If you wanted to list them all, I would list them as:

NMSF
___ Book Award
Rensselaer Medal
Departmental Awards (science, Spanish, English) if you have room for all of that

If your other honours are all just at the school level, I would say that it’s not worth spilling over into the additional info section - you don’t want to make it seem like you’re desperately looking for honours to list (I know you aren’t, but someone could take it the wrong way). Yes, NHS is school level.

Your love of learning, I think, is best portrayed through your essay and through your teacher’s recommendation, rather than an award - the honours section does not give you room to explain the award.

Just my opinion; I would recommend you get more and see what most people recommend. :)
