which hotel

which hotel should i book for my parents when they come to drop me off, ne idea ?

If you are looking for first class, upscale hotels, you will probably find the closest one in Chicago 120 miles away.

As to "it is decent because it is clean, no bugs, and some usual hotel services, and generally reasonably priced," then we have stayed at the Hawthorne Suites which is right near the campus and Courtyard by the Marriot which is about 3 miles from campus. I am sure there many others. Key is to get a reservation now because there are a lot of parents or others in the same "moving in" situation and thus rooms can fill.

If you can the Illini Union has a hotel, and you can't beat the location (right in the middle) . I am pretty sure they must be booked by now though.

We've stayed at both the Hawthorn Suites and the Courtyard. The Hawthorn Suites is not the typical Hawthorn hotel, but their low-end model. Once was enough. The Courtyard is very nice and definitely clean. It is surrounded by other decent hotels as well as lots of restaurants and shopping malls.

I agree that the Union is the best possible location. And they give you a parking pass on the campus if you are a guest there. It's really tough to get a reservation though.

There is a Holiday on Lincoln. It seemed nice enough. I had a banquet and a semi-formal there.
