which housing to choose?

so far i've heard from two places. i'm accepted into collins l/l center, and accepted into ashton single resident scholars.

mom obviously wants me to do the resident scholar thing :-p but i'm not so sure about living in a single. ashton is pretty close to music stuff, where i'd spend a lot of time. not close, actually, but not far either.

i think i'd prefer collins, because it sounds super and i love the laid back atmosphere it would have. but double could suck, depending on my roommate. then again, it could suck for my roommate more likely because i don't really care how other people act but i'm pretty messy. pretty far though, from music. this is a big downer.

how long is it going to take to hear from my first choice? (forest, co-op was my number one i think. then again maybe it was performing arts community. those were the top two at least.) i can't wait to hear!!!

when are other people going to orientation? i'm kind of worried because i want to work over the summer but i'm not gonna have time for much of a job if i'm leaving for school stuff in the middle and right before the new school year. ugh. i want to earn money before i go to school but i don't know when i'll have time!!!!

I don't know anything about the resident scholar program, but my son says a friend of his lived in Ashton and liked it. Another person we know lived in Collins and will be returning there next year. She said she really liked it there. They have good food and friendly people, according to her.

As for a single or a double, I would say it depends upon your personality. If you are a friendly, outgoing person who makes friends easily, a single shouldn't be a problem. If, however, you are a bit shy or reserved, having a roommate can be a good way to meet someone new and become more a part of the community. Our friend at Collins started in a double, then switched to a single after a month or two. (Of course, that costs more.) Remember, you can always switch roommates, too, if you are not compatible.

It is hard earning money this summer, since you have to leave so soon. But just think, you will be out in early May and can get a summer job next year before a lot of other kids are even out of school.

anyone get their room mate and housing assignments yet? theyre sending it via email
