I love my Trillian. :) I have friends that use nearly every system, and it's nice not having a million IM systems and windows running at the same time.

Trillian and Pidgin are nothing compared to Digsby. It's pretty new, but it's the best multiprotocol IM client out there. It even supports Facebook chat.

AIM.... It's the classic way to go.

All of my friends are on MSN so its MSN for me

I use AIM through iChat.

I use meebo. It's like pidgin in that it works with multiple chat clients, but I find it even better because it's all through your Internet browser.

AIM mostly. Facebook and gchat occasionally.

As a client, I use Adium... it lets you do most IM services including AIM, gchat, facebook, yahoo, etc.

Pidgin. Not that many good options for a Linux user anyways.

I use Kopete on my (Gentoo Linux) computer. I feel it works better than Pidgin (well, I haven't really used Pidgin since the days it was called Gaim, but I feel like not much has changed other than the name).

Adium on my macbook pro.
