which is a better business school? USC (Marshall) or UT (McComb)

Well, since you are asking in a USC forum...... Marshall, hehe. Actually UT does have a very good business school, but I would personally not know which is better. You can look at rankings, but then again you should not rely on those too much...

Hmm, I'm not sure which is better, but if I was a Texas resident and got into the business honors program I would go there. My cousin has a Finance degree (but he's in med school now, so I don't know where the degree would have taken him business wise) and I remember him interning at Microsoft for a semester. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't go to an out-of-state public school. I would comment on Marshall, but I've only taken one business course so far. I have to say, there is a tremendous about of int'l opportunity here, which is a big plus for me.

Which is better for real estate development..how good is USC according to this major.

Where do you want to live and work after you graduate?

CA companies are more likely to recruit at USC and TX companies are more likely to recruit at UT. The converse is true as well.

but which has a better program in real estate?

I'd actually like to know this too.
I'm guaranteed into UT business.. but obviously I'd like to go to USC more (1st choice)

me too..top 10% rule

Neither USC nor UT are ranked in the top 5 in real estate and they ranked about the same for overall business programs.

However, Texas has a better economic climate for opporunties in real estate development.

If a career in real estate development is what you want to pursue, UT would be a better choice.

UT also has a much bigger alumni base (second biggest among all U.S. colleges) that you can network with. In a business like real estate where contacts are of paramount importance, who you know is more important than what you know.

BTW, I am not a UT grad nor am I related to anyone who is a UT grad.

I'm curious as well. I just got into McCombs, but I'm still waiting on Marshall. I'm OOS for Texas, so it isn't quite as cheap, although still pretty good (around 23k).

Go to USC Marshall. Network with engineers in Viterbi and start the ultimate business to take over the world..

If you want to do real estate in the western states, I'd say go to
Carey business school at ASU and try for the business honors program.
Carey was a big real estate guy in Manhattan (sort of like Trump?).
He donated some $100 million for the ASU biz school, so he 'd have some
influence on the program, though he doesn't teach there.
