I'm currently a junior interested in getting a degree in Civil Engineering. I was wondering what some of the best US colleges are for getting an engineering degree.

I'm nowhere near being able to get in to Harvard or MIT, but I'm an above average student (3.85 GPA) with good extracurriculars and a good work ethic. The schools I'm considering now are:

Virginia Tech
Norwich University
Virginia Military Institute

However, I'd love more selections from people familiar with the industry. Which schools carry the biggest names and are best for getting jobs after graduation? Any advice would be appreciated.

What is the SAT score ? Virginia Tech has the biggest name on that list. VMI is equally good but it cannot be compared with the other two since the civilian side will be very different than military side. Will you be joining the ROTC at Virginia Tech ? Look at West Point, its one of the best Military Academy. Here are some other Universities :
- University of Virginia
- Pennsylvania State University
- Ohio State University
- SUNY BUffalo
- University of Maryland
- University of Wisconsin-Madison
- University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign
- Drexel University
- University of Michigan

Are you from Virginia ? Virginia Tech is the cheapest option for you.

I’m from Indiana. I’m interested in those schools because I want to do ROTC and being in a Corps of Cadets is very important to me! Taking the ACT in April!
