Which is best for Pharmacology: Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry Major?

I am a Sophomore at Ball State University and I would like to be a Pharmacologist. I will be switching my major from Pre-Business to either: Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry. Which is the best major to choose if I want to be a Pharmacologist, NOT A PHARMACIST. Thank you so much!

I’ve personally emailed the dean of our pharmacy program where I am and they have said any are fine. Pharmacology deals more with the way to body takes the medicine as opposed to Pharmaceutics which usually deals in how the drug is produced. With that being said, Biology or Biochemistry will be fine for Pharmacology, while all three are fine for Pharmaceutics.

When choosing between the two, just pick the one you would think you’ll enjoy most. You will find this out after taking the intro courses, as Biochem and Bio don’t branch out from each other until like 3rd year anyways.

Also Biochem is a bit harder, so if you want a better grade, go for bio. They all make you take Organic chemistry, so you’ll have the chem basics no problem.
