My D is a day student at a boarding school. We did not choose to board our D or move. It does matter which boarding school. school you go to for college admissions. but it really matters what you do there. Grades, SAT’s class rank is very important. Hockey is a great hook too. People think that if they send their kids to private school and pay the money that it gives them an up and it doesn’t really. I’m also wondering if the opposite. is true. My D’s education was far superior(I think) than if she had gone to another school in our area but it didn’t give her an advantage with college admissions. On another level, it was a good pick for her because she was very successful there and really evolved and that is priceless. It was worth the money, to us, but din’t get her into an elite college.
