Which is better DVC or De Anza?

I want to transfer to Berkeley but I like that De Anza has a Honors program so I could do TAP for UCLA as a back up plan. I don't know alot about DVC just that it is #1 in transfers to Berkeley, is it really hard to get classes? What is the general feel of the campus? Thanks in Advance.

this is community college

lol, so true.

de anza has an honors program but it does not have tap for la.

yea its not a ucla vs cal debate...or stanford vs princeton lol...go to whichever is closer to ur home lol somebody obviously lied to you and told you that berkeley cares about which cc u went to (it doesn't) i know this from people who work 'inside' haha

It isn't about which college is closer to me, my parents are selling there house and moving to Washington but I want to stay in California, get my own place and attend community college.

then go to a place with cheap housing or dorms. I heard a community college in santa barbra has dorms (not sure what its called).

santa barbara city college

theres also santa monica...

in terms of the bay area chills dont live in pleasant hill/concord....forget DVC if you plan on living near the school. from what i've seen the area sucks. theres nothing but a good mall, and its so hot over there...dont do it...

Area sucks yes. But...it's about the only area in the East Bay where you can find OC-looking girls :p

thats not helpful ^ lol

One thing about De Anza is that it is on the quarter system. This may help you to get all your requirements in. For instance I was on the semester system last year, and was not able to start my physics sequence for various reasons. If I stay on the semester system it will take 3 semesters, which is too long since I will be applying this fall. If your major is one that requires a lot of classes De Anza may be better (engineering majors). Also aside from UCB all the other uc's are on the quarter system. Considering how hard UCB is you may want to consider getting use to the quarter system right away in case you do not end up there. I say this not to discourage you, but to be realistic. Best of luck making the right choice for you.

^ucb is on semester system.

i mentioned aside from ucb all the other uc's are on the quarter system
