I'm just wondering if any of you high schoolers out there use wheelie or "regular" backpacks (lol, sorry don't know the term, but the ones that you just throw on your back) to school, if you have a large campus. Which one would you recommend using if your classes are located in different buildings which require at least a five minute walk with a few staircases? Thanks!:)

I would get a regular backpack. Personally I don’t know anyone who has a wheelie, and I’m not sure which would be more effective, but I am relatively sure people will make fun of you if you have a wheelie. Also the wheels will most likely break after a while, and it will be really hard to carry around.

Regular backpack. Don’t see much people with a wheelie backup, and it would be much easier going up the stairs with a regular backpack

Definitely get a regular backpack. I have a nice northface one (heckler I think), and literally carry all of my books in it all day long, and have absolutely no problem. I’ve stuffed it completely full with books and it still never feels too heavy… at least, not when I’m wearing it (sometimes it’s heavy to pick up). Rolling backpacks would get very annoying, especially with stairs. Being a hockey player, I remember when I used to have a bag with wheels. I would literally trip over it every two seconds.

Regular. No one takes a person over 9 years old with a rolling backpack seriously.

Tons of people at my HS have rolling backpacks … it’s really a matter of what you prefer. Nobody really cares whether or not you have a rolling backpack or not.

Wheelie backpacks are a big NO NO.

Uh… definitely regular backpacks! Your not in preschool anymore! Seriously, nobody at my school has wheelie backpacks. If you do, it’ll give you a bad image.

Screw the image part. Who cares if you have a bad image? I say regular backpack due to functionality.

Be a non-conformist. Go with the wheelie backpack.

My friend is taking multiple AP classes. She has a normal backpack, but her textbooks are so heavy that she has back problems. She’s beginning to look like Quasimoto from the Hunchback of Notre-Dame.

At my school, everyone has regular backpacks, and it’s a pretty big campus. It takes at least seven or eight minutes to walk from one side of campus to the other. Rolling bookbags just seem like more of a hassle, especially if you’ll be dealing with staircases.

Go with a regular backpack because they are much more versatile and will be better for you socially. I am a senior and this is the pack I use. [REI Traverse 30 Pack at REI.com](http://www.rei.com/product/778465/rei-traverse-30-pack) It is completely superior to most peoples’ low hanging, back-damaging, falling apart backpacks. The construction is much better than a school pack, plus it has a hipbelt and more adjustment straps than the pack I use when I go backpacking. In addition, REI has a lifetime no questions asked return policy.

Go regular. They have a better image and are better functionally. Going up stairs with a wheelie would be a disaster.

Don’t listen to these other kids. Rolling backpacks are sexy and if you want to really accessorize get a matching fanny pack.

oh god please dont use a roller…

Rolling backpacks are better in almost every way (yes, they can be worn on your back if you so desire) except…
people will make fun of you.
I would much, much rather carry my books in something roomy that benefits my back than in those miniscule, useless Jansport backpacks where you’re lucky if you can fit a water bottle inside (exaggeration), but that’s life.

Best part about budget shortfalls is all the classes switch to online books. I only have 3 books and I keep two of them at home almost every day.

Regular - it can be used for many more purposes. Vacation, field trips, picnics, activities, etc.

I use a North Face and I use it for almost everything school related and non-school related.

There was this kid a year above us at my high school who used a rollie backpack…it was bad. Everyone knew him as “that rollie backpack kid”.

Then again, he did run to every class…

I recommend no.

No one uses backpacks at my school. (They’re not allowed and we don’t need them anyway since our school is one building). But if we could and someone had a rolling backpack, I am very sure they would be made fun of. Don’t give people an excuse to make fun of you. Use a real backpack.
