I have got into CSULB and San Jose State, I still can't figure out which one is better for Comp. Sc. engineering?
Any suggestions?

I also got in UB, but I hear the whether there is worse.

Echo…? Anyone there?

I dont think one is better than the other. You wouldn’t be making a bad choice if you pick either of those. They are bot CSU’s so they are similar in terms of rankings. So its not like one will make you and the other will break you.

What you should do is go to each of the department’s website and read what they have to offer. Even though they are the same major. Each school will have a different program and offer different things. So you should go to each departments site and do research and see which fits you the best.

also this shouldnt be your main priority but it does weight heavy…LBSU is better in terms of weather, location and atmosphere. San Jose state is a commuter school and the campus isnt all that great.

what is UB?

Umm, thanks a lot for suggesting this, doing that now!
Yes, even I am more inclined towards CSULB…
UB is University at Buffalo, which is another great option.

Thanks again!

Uh… if you’re doing Computer Sci you should really go to SJS so you can be close to Silicon Valley. There will be more internship opportunities there for you than CSULB…

And the comment about commuter school, that’s what CSULB is as well.

rawrrang is right completely. There are loads of tech companies in the Silicon Valley that higher and intern directly out of SJSU, I know because my friends dad used to be a recruiter for Yahoo.

That being said, It really depends on which campus/location, and student life you like better aswell:

Both are commuter schools, and both are in very urban areas.

SJSU has brand new campus housing while CSULB’s is really old.

CSULB is a lot closer to the beach if your into that, but the benefit with SJSU is it’s located downtown so there are tons of restaurants/bars/clubs/entertainment in walking distance. CSULB is in the outskirts of Long Beach, all the nightlife/restaurants requires a 10 min drive.

5.Both have similar weather, contrary to popular belief. I’m from the Silicon Valley and it has by far the best weather in all of nor-cal.

I think as far as on campus drinking and parting SJSU by far. Nothing happens on campus at CSULB, but at SJSU frat row is right in front of campus and people are a lot more willing to get loose on campus.

In shot, I really think SJSU is your best option.
