Which is better for vocabulary, Barron's Verbal Book or Princeton Review's Word Smart

Is the Barron's verbal book better than the Princeton Review's Word Smart book because the Barron's Verbal book contains 800 words while the Princeton Review Word Smart only contains 200? Also should I waste time memorizing word roots for the SAT? I mean the SAT does not test how much vocabulary you know, so isn't it pointless trying to memmorize word roots?
