<p>I don’t think you’ll be at either an advantage or a disadvantage if you put either one.</p>
<p>Colleges know that students will change their major several times in college, so the weight given to intended major is fairly insignificant. Still, an intended major can help to reveal the thread uniting ECs (perhaps an anthropology major with a passion for french and politics, two seemingly unrelated things). There may also be a moderate boost for students with defined, well-demonstrated interests in less popular fields like classics, should they indicate that as their intended major.</p>
