Which is better?

I have a dilemma for next year. I am in both Student Government and Foreign Language honor society (something our school does) (both on mondays afterschool). But since the latter is only once a month, and im only a normal member in both, it hasn’t been too much of a problem this year.

However, I wish to run for Student Government President next year, except I know I won’t be able to miss any meetings. And to be given credit for Foreign Language HS, I need to attend all the meetings, as well. So, I have to give up one or the other: SG Prez or Foreign Language H.S. altogether. Which do you think is more important, at least in the persective of Admissions? I like both, but must compromise.

(p.s. , if it helps, im a sophomore, going on junior as of next fall)

Never heard of Foreign Language HS.

like general foreign language or spanish, french, etc?

Anyways...I had that problem, usually the advisors will be more than happy to work something out. Maybe you can go late to one meeting, or you can get all the stuff from the advisor, that was discussed at the meeting. Talk to them, usually they cooperate

First you'd have to win the election to be President. But if you did, then go with the Student Government and not the foreign language honor society. Though the FLHS looks nice, presidency in Student Government looks better.

Not only that, but I think it may also depend on what your intended major is. For example, I had the same dilemma except between scienceNHS and spanishNHS. So, since I'm going into engineering, science, of course, took precedence. Also, you may want to work it out. But, also, any standing as an officer pwns "just a member." And, even once you get the presidency, you should do some stuff (like start a fundraiser, etc.) that shows lots of initiative, so that you're not just some president who's there for the name.

thanks. yeah, I'm currently in the French division, next year I will include Spanish. I want to do a lot as prez of student gov (if I get it). While I can only hope that I could do both, my Foreign Language Honor Society advisor is a BIT**, so my chances are little to none.

Oh, and my intended major is business. So leadership stuff, I would assume, would be best. Any other advice would be much appreciated! thanks again.

sorry, bump.
