Which is better?

Hi All, I am currently enrolled at a university planning on transferring to CC. When I get there my major will be either be Information Technology or Computer Science. But my question is should I get an Associates or Bachelors? The only reason I really would get an Associates is so that I can move away earlier rather than later. Regardless I am still transferring to CC I will just transfer to another Uni. from CC

P.S. I am currently looking into Computer Engineering so I might dabble with that there. I don’t know yet.

The reason I am transferring is because my school doesn’t have either of my majors. And I would love to continue to do music in college. Also another thing I cannot do at my current school.

Thanks all.

If you can afford it you should definitely be going for a bachelor’s. It opens up way more opportunities than an Associate’s does.

Becoming independent and self sufficient is what all college students want. Is sacrificing a better education for the chance to become self sufficient earlier worth it? Most companies that are looking to employ are looking for bachelor degrees when it comes to Computer Science. In today’s economy, though, an associates degree can have the same power as a bachelors, depending on circumstances and company requirements. You might want to look up job opportunities and see what kind of background they require or are looking for and use that as a basis for a decision. You might also consider looking at the predicted job increase percentage for the majors you’re interested in before deciding, as well as taking in to account your passion for the major.

AFAIK, CCs - community colleges - can’t confer bachelor’s degrees. The only option is an associates degree.

Dude - you started a thread in every single subforum about your question. This forum isn’t here for you to annoy us over and over with a question which you could easily find answers to online. If you can afford it, a bachelors is better than an associates in every single way. You will be eligible for more jobs, make more money, etc.

@philbegas ignore it then. Clearly I asked again since it didn’t gain any traction. All I did was bump this post. Calm Down.

You don’t gain traction because all you do is say “bump” instead of responding to anything that anybody posts lol.

What exactly do you want to know. Everybody will tell you over and over again. A bachelors is better than an associates. Just getting an associates means you will not qualify for many jobs where you could make more money or get more fulfillment.

Asking, bachelor vs associates is not like asking “Should I get 1 major vs another major”. A bachelor is 2 more years than an associates because you gain a better understanding of the concepts. If you’re not sure what you want, go to community college, get an associates, and then apply to a 4 year university as a transfer student if you don’t feel like you’ve done enough.

This is one post…if you look at my other posts I do. Thank you for your input but I am not arguing with you over a thread. I’ve since moved on from this thread but ‘bumped it’ to hear other options. That’s all. Good day.
