Which is easier to get into bioengineering/biomed engineering? Purdue or UW, Seattle?

I've been admitted as a fist year engineering student at Purdue and pre-engineering student at UW, however I want to major in bioengineering/biomed engineering. Does anyone how hard is it to get admissions for that specific major at these colleges? Which one would be easier? Or should I asked which one would you go to? Thanks a lot! :))

No one has an opinion?

Getting into all the engineering majors at UW is difficult. The UW web site states the following for bioengineering – The GPA range for prerequisites is typically about 3.4 - 3.9 with an average of about 3.7. The minimum GPA to be considered for admission is a 2.5 cumulative average. Purdue says that BioEngineering is over enrolled and you will need over a 3.2 to get into the program. These grade points are from your first year of college. For both of these colleges, the average freshman grade point is around 2.9. So, it is slightly harder to get into UW bioengineering, but both of them are difficult to get into , and you will need to have grades that are much higher than average. I wish I had better news for you.

@susanle Thank you so much for the information. I was so worried that no one is going to reply. Can I ask you one more question? Say if I am admitted to UC, Davis, will it also be like a ‘pre-engineering’ or ‘First Year Engineering’ type of thing where I have to apply to the biomedical engineering department later?
