Which is easier to obtain?

a 5 in AP Lang or a 700 on CR SAT?

And what do you think a 5 equates to on the CR section?

Unless you’re an amazing writer and poor at reading comprehension, definitely the 700 on CR. I’ve known two people who got 800 on CR (first try) and 4 on AP Lang (however, 5 on AP Lang isn’t THAT hard… I guess it was an anomaly or they weren’t good writers)

Yeah, it’s not even comparable cause writing on AP Lang is more than half your score. As for the MC alone, I think the CR is usually a lot easier than AP Lang questions

So as a person who got 780 W w/10 essay on the SAT’s with a 690 CR score, what do you think i should be able to get on AP Lang?

bumppppppppppppp

I’d say
1: 3 %
4: 57 %
5: 40 %

It largely depends on your writing skill for the essays, but the SAT Writing section is a god-awful indicator of writing skill.

What happened to 2 and 3 lol?

@meursalt
Hopefully, they were insignificant enough to leave out!

Though, I suppose I should had made 3 at least 5%.

and one is significant enough…?

nvm…thx for the prediction

Lol well I got an easy 5 on my Language AP and a 600 on SAT CR. ■■■

^not to be an *******…but hahahha! nice! showed CB they can suck it! the irony is that CB made both those tests :P

Easier to obtain? Probably the 700 CR (though a 5 on AP Lang is easier to get than an 800 CR).

I don’t know… the Critical Reading can be hella tricky… but as I haven’t taken AP Lang just yet, I can’t officially compare

Well you must be an amazing writer then… correct me if I’m wrong, but everyone thinks that the CR reading comprehension is significantly easier than the English Language AP reading comprehension? I haven’t met anyone who disagrees with me yet…

700 CR ainec

Not comparable.

Again, two different things. I’ve seen both extremes on the same person.

I’d just like to say that i got a 5. Suck it!

If you can do AP MC, SAT CR should not be a problem. The SAT passages ask you to look for tone, purpose, etc. Same stuff as in AP, but easier. The only hard part is the curve.

I scored a 730 on CR, 770 on W, 12 on my Essay, and a 5 on AP English Language.

I don’t know any of the correlations there. I thought English Lang’s MC was easier than the SAT’s and that the writing on Lang was obviously harder… but then again i didn’t think Lang was hard at all and I’m surprised top schools actually give you credit for a 5 in AP Lang… I didn’t even take an AP English class this year and I never really learned how to write the essays, but I still scored a 5 and I was pretty confident about it afterwards (not to sound smug or anything). I just went in there and took it as a “self-study,” except that I never actually studied for it.

well, tbh, it varies. I got 5s on AP English Language and AP English Literature, a 730 on both CR and Writing and an 8 on that essay (my practice essays in class for language all got 7+ on the AP scale). So, I’m not sure how well the correlation goes.
