Is it harder to get into Princeton Engineering School or the regular Princeton Undergrad?

Same goes for Duke Engineering and Harvard SEAS and Reg

bump doeeeee

Im applying to both actually. I know for Duke that the engineering school has a slightly higher acceptance rate than the trinity Art college however their stats are a lot higher because the engineering pool typically consists of more competitive applicants. I would assume the same goes for princeton

For undergraduate admission, you apply to Princeton University or to Harvard College. You don’t apply to individual undergraduate programs or schools. At Princeton, you don’t declare an engineering concentration until the end of your first year. At Harvard, you don’t declare any major until your second year. I don’t think it is possible to determine, for either Princeton or Harvard, whether admission is significantly harder for a prospective engineering major.

We don’t know what exactly happens at Princeton’s and Harvard’s admissions offices. So we can’t tell you for sure, how much expressing the non-binding major interest in your application can affect your chances.

My completely personal opinion and advice: It doesn’t matter! Just do your best and be completely honest in your application. Its HP! These kind of trivial stuff are not really a hook for you! (Unless you are a women applying for Engineering!) If it was UIUC, I would tell you to apply undeclared, but I don’t think these things really matter at HP! (Personal opinion!)

P.S. I have no idea about Duke!
