Which is in higher demand: Actuary or Pharmacist? how about in the future? In the past, the answer would be obvious: Pharmacists due to it being in the healthcare field. But UCSF has created a robot that performs pharmacist and Pharm technician tasks more quickly and flawlessly. Many Pharmacies today use similar machines to do the work that Pharm Techs and PharmDs used to do. Also, I heard that there is a glut of Pharmacists. Is this true? With the advancements in technology and more than ever (and growing) number of Pharmacy schools and Pharmacy students, will finding a job with a PharmD degree still going to be easier than finding an Actuary job now, and in the upcoming decades?

Which decently-paying job do you think will be highest in demand for the upcoming decades? (Any job, doesn't have to be Actuary or Pharmacist) Thanks so much.

I heard there is currently a shortage of pharmacists, resulting in long and stressful work hours in 24 hour stores.

My son is studying applied math and statistics, in the hopes of becoming an actuary. In Maine, at least, there is an acute shortage of actuaries - who would have thought?? I’ve heard it’s similar elsewhere, also. You have to be really good at math and take quite a few exams to advance in the field.
