I am an Indian stidying in the CBSE syllabus.
I am hoping to get 85% in 11th. But I am very confident I can get 97% in 12th. So which is more important 11th grades or 12th grades (first term and half yearly) ?
I am going to apply during mid-November this year after my 12th half yearly marks come out.
I am planning to apply to:
- Stanford
- MIT
- UC Berkeley
- Purdue
- UCLA
- Georgiatech
- Caltech
- Harvard
I think that 11th grade is more important. The first term and half yearly 12th grade marks will also count. When applying to the US, international students usually get accepted based on a “predicted grade”. So, it really depends on what % you get predicted by your teachers. If they feel like your 12th grade performance is great, they will usually predict you higher.
What’s your SAT/ACT/Subject Test score, by the way?
SAT 2 - 2400 (Math physics and chem)
SAT 1 - 2300
It depends on the university. For some, like Penn State or the UCs or many other large public universities, 12th grade results don’t count at all - only how rigorous your schedule is and the fact you don’t get a D or an F.
For others, the Mid year report is required and grades matter, sometimes a lot.
