What do you think is more important....scores on the AP exams or scores on SAT IIs? Only those who have really challenged themselves in school take AP exams, they are much longer and more extensive, and they measure your knowledge more fully than SAT IIs can. But are SAT IIs more important to colleges?

sat subject tests.

Does anyone know why? Because SAT subject tests are so much worse than the APs...they are only one hour and all multiple choice. you can guess and do well.

Well, theres a much larger range of scores on an SATII than an AP. The AP exam usually goes into much greater depth, but you need to get more right on the SATII to get a perfect score.

a lot of kids go to schools that don't offer AP classes; everyone can take SAT II's.

For admission, SAT II's are a lot more important (score wise, anyways. Rigor wise, you will look better if you took lots of AP Tests regardless of your score). In actual college, though, I suppose the AP Credit is more important.

AP Scores can save some classes in colleges. Admission? SAT II

No one gives a $#!@ about AP scores.

SAT Subjects, on the other hand, are more important than SAT I's.

SAT II subject tests matter for admissions; AP scores matter once you get in

SAT II for sure.

SAT II Subjects matter in both admissions and placement, as do APs.

Anyone who says SAT IIs matter only for admisssions and APs only for credit is wrong, as the majority of colleges say both will be used for both admission and credit (of course depends which college).

AP Scores do show things. If your AP class was a joke and u got a 100 in it but a 1 on the exam, clearly that AP Class is meaningless compared to the person who got a 80 in the class but a 5 on the exam. I'd take the person with the 3.0 and 5 on the exam over the clumsy person with the 100 in the class but 1 on the exam.

Of course, this is just one example, but it holds true. Exceptions are always possible. In general though, SAT II's are "more" important, but APs arent useless either.
