Which is more impressive: Capt of JV tennis OR Varsity tennis?

I had to make this decision last year and I chose to become captain of JV tennis instead of joining varsity tennis. But I want some advice/comments for next year. I can definitely make the Varsity team, but I don't have many leadership roles yet. Which of these would a top college value more?

Two years as JV captain devalues the distinction. Challenge yourself and move up.

varsity tennis…

of course varsity. JV is wimpy compared to varsity.

work up to be a varsity captain, or you can just be an unofficial leader amongst your peers. you don’t have to have the label.

if you’re that desperate, find other things to do, not just tennis. hundreds of tennis players out there. find some other passions to go along with tennis.

Aim high. Become captain of varsity. You don’t have to be the best to be team captain. I certainly wasn’t.

Does it matter? Do what you will enjoy most.

^Agreed.
