I was just accepted to Lehigh University and I was invited to attend the Diversity Life Weekend. I looked up on their website and they also have the other admitted students events such as Lehigh Life Days, and Candidate's Days. I'm thinking about attending the Diversity Life Weekend, but I really don't want to spend an entire 3 day weekend there, unless it is really worth it. I can't attend all 3 events either because of travel and scheduling reasons. Since I know there are other events to visit the school for admitted students.

Which of these 3 events do you think is most informative and what are the differences between these 3 admitted student days?

I also was invited to the Diversity Life Weekend and I was wondering if anyone Lehigh student/alumni attended it before to talk a little more about, specifically if it was worth the three days going there. If not, I won’t register for it and just drive up there on Candidate’s Day which is that same weekend.

Hi StraferKev,

Congrats on your acceptance. I recommend you attend as many admission events as you can - this way you can make a well-informed decision and even start planning your Lehigh experience as an enrolled student.

Lehigh Life Days allow admitted students to sit in on a class of their choice and attend a student panel. You can also meet up with faculty and take tours. They’re quick events and the “main attraction” is being able to sit in on a college class.

Diversity Life Weekend is a great option if you want to get a good feel of campus life. D-Life Weekend allows you to actually live in a Lehigh dorm for a weekend and meet up with other admitted students. I’ve heard of people making long-term Lehigh friends at this event. Although it has emphasis on diversity, it is not reserved only for minorities. All students are able to go - assuming you’re invited to attend.

Candidates’ Day is the main highlight for admitted students. This is an all-day event. You really focus on the academic and social aspects of your Lehigh experience. You get to speak with professors and Lehigh students specifically related to the major and college of your choice. And there student panels and other tours to give you a sense for campus life.

If you have to choose one event, I personally recommend Candidates’ Day. You’ll get all of your questions answered.

Best,
