reasonably good food (price is negligible)

not too quiet, not too party-animal status (plentiful asians too, particularly chinese)

close to central campus

co-ed, obviously

loosely controlled

livable!!!

business major

pretty much, which is the best dorm? price doesn’t exactly factor in, so be generous!!! also, give lots of feedback and put up a pic or two, thanks!!

btw, im considering bromley or armory

any university dorms that are similar to those private ones?

hi there,
well first of all I've heard that private housing food is worse that public and anywhere you go you should be able to see asians. However, I have heard that FAR/PAR (they're right across the street from each other) have particularly more asians, b/c most of the business/engineering people are there (I think...). Also, I think FAR/PAR are the dorms that are the furthest away from the main quad (for public housing that is), but they aren't THAT far, plus there's always the award-winning bus system. :) F/P are co-ed, as most dorms are, but I saw first-hand most of all the public dorms and they are all pretty small--tinyyy :P. I don't know how I'm going to survive. If you're going to do private, it's good to know that they're less social than the public dorms. This is all what I've concluded from my 3 day visit there and from what I have heard--just a fair warning. Good luck!

BTW, for pics and stuff, you should visit the official site: http://www.housing.uiuc.edu/options (for public) and there u should be able to find a link of the private dorm option.
