Which is the best math class to skip?

I am taking geometry freshman year, algebra 2 sophomore year, pre-calculus junior year and calculus bc senior year. Which of these is the best class to skip? Obviously not geometry or calculus, but which of the other ones could I take over the summer? My high school offers credit for taking it over the summer.

You can’t “skip” any math class. Each class builds on the previous. I took pre-calc over the summer. It was fun.

For what purpose? What would you take senior year if you took something over the summer?

i’d say algebra 2, which is (at least at my school) mostly a repeat of algebra 1.
pre-calculus is a challenging course and i suggest taking that over a full school year; i go to a school that’s very math/science heavy, and i’ve seen some very smart kids struggle with it even though they were able to breeze through classes like AP physics or geometry.

i agree with Algebra 2, theres a good amount overlap in. So you can make it up if you don’t learn something as well over the summer. Its usually better to skip earlier classes so what you do skip is less difficult and important.

Most people I know take Pre-Calc over the summer if they want to advance to AP Calc Junior or Senior Year. Normally, pre-calc is a repeat/review of Algebra II, and then a few new concepts that are critical to calculus. Where would you take the class at?

I flex-credited Algebra II before taking geometry and had forgotten a bunch of it before taking Pre-Calc, and it was very much a non-issue. Part of Pre-Calc is filling in the holes and expanding on subjects in Algebra II, making A2 a relatively good class to flex credit.

I’d say Alg II, as you re-learn most material in Precalc anyhow.
