I have just been admitted into Purdue University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Rochester Institute of technology and Michigan State University. I am an international student and my major is engineering. Which university would you recommend i choose to get a good university experience, make good friends, and get a good job.

It depends which major in Engineering you want.

^^^
Exactly.

If you want the college experience I would go to either purdue or wisconsin

i applied for undecided..but major is mechanical..and wat about getting a job?

I'd agree with Purdue or Wisconsin

so...now its between purdue and wisconsin..where should i go?

What's your field of interest? Your intended major?

Mechanical Engineering..im also intersted in structural or civil engineering..something related to designing buildings..

They're all decent schools that will land you decent jobs. Go where you feel most comfortable. You'll be living there for the next 4 years, so it's more important that you're happy/comfortable at your selected school.

I recommend visiting some of the schools, see where you think you'll fit in the best, and go there!

i dont think i can visit any of the schools since im half way around the world in pakistan..especially with my ap's and final exams so near....most of the people ive talked to here know about purdue..but only few have heard of wisconsin..

Wisconsin has a better overall reputation and stronger students than Purdue.

UW has also build a new mechanical engineering hall extension recently.

I would choose Wisconsin if it's not much more expensive than Purdue.

my dads been talking to people.. and we decided on purdue. thanks for all your help..i really appreciate it.. =)

i talked to a few of my dads friends who are engineers and they all think purdues the better option..all these mixed answers are making me confused.. =s

Both are good, but I'd pick Wisconsin because not only it has top 15 engineering school, but it also has a better overall reputation than Purdue.

They're both good schools. Pick whichever one you think you'd be happier at/least in-debt at. Both are well-regarded, everyone has their opinions about which is better, and we could debate this all day long and confuse you even further...

Bottom line, you'll get a good education at both, and it's time to consider things outside of prestige. West Lafayette and Madison are very different towns, and Purdue and UW have very different feels to them. If you think you'll be happier at Purdue, you can't go wrong with it. It's a very good program, and you'll have great opportunities upon graduating.

i really appreciate all your help..Thank you! =)
