Hi everyone, currently stuck trying to choose between 2 colleges, neither are the best but I am curious to see what others think are better. My G.P.A. is a 3.7 and I made it into University of Michigan - Dearborn and Wayne State. I have visited both campuses but I really could care less about the campus life both have tons of activities for students, I am more interested in my educational experience and which one would be more beneficial for my future career of accounting. I know people see UofM dearborn as a joke partly because of the Ann Arbor campus. I have had family members that attend both campuses and both are pretty rigorous and I would consider neither a joke. I am afraid that employers don't see that however when they think of UofM-D, so I considered attending Wayne State. Only problem with Wayne state is I know very little about it compared to UofM-D and I don't know really how it compares to as far as educational ranking etc. The end game for me is to get a CPA/MSA, I know that UofM-D offers a lot of internships for accounting since not many people are attracted to this subject (I switched from Finance because of this trend I noticed with most colleges and jobs). So any input would be appreciated, thanks.

bump, well i’ve ruled wayne state out of the equation, now i am considering michigan state vs u of m - dearborn, again i plan to get a masters, i am now debating whether i should go to state for my undergrad or just stick it out at u of m - d for a undergrad and go to state for grad school or should i just transfer to state and do my undergrad/grad there, the cost for state is about 17k a year for me uncertain of how much will be covered, right now u of m d is about 11k for me and 9k is covered through scholarship/grants, also live 20 minutes away, i would end up living in lansing, just wondering if it really makes a difference if i have high gpa at either school to get an internship later on or even a job

Wait. Why are you choosing so late? You realize the deadline to confirm where you go was on or very near May 1 right? What’s the story?

I had some family issues but got that sorted out now, I am already admitted into UofM-D and have been admitted into MSU before, however, I would be going there if in fall of 2014 if i decided to go to there, i would take a semester in the fall at UofM-D with classes that would transfer to MSU towards my degree then do community service for the winter semester.

bump still looking for opinions

You need to get this cleared up before you make a decision. Either you can afford it or you can’t. As far as internships, ask each school what companies they work with, what resources you’ll have to find internships and their success rate.
