which is the better engineering school- UPenn or Penn State?

so which is it?

the Ivy or the public school?

who is the better one in Engineering?

upenn engineering isn't all that hot. still i'd take upenn engineering over the public school. and penn state is not a public ivy, that title belongs to schools like UVA.

u know penn state is ranked above upenn in engineering...

but everyone will choose upenn coz of its ivy status and reputation.
so i guess upenn is just better.

I think Penn State is the better engineering school.

This all depends on many things. What do you want to do with your degree? What do you want in an engineering program? There is no flat out answer

johns hopkins is the best ever at everything, including engineering

Who wants to live in nasty Baltimore....

baltimore is not nasty

If you want to get a job as an engineer in Pennsylvania after college, Penn State may well be better. It is huge, has a long-standing reputation as producing excellent engineers, and nearly any firm in PA that employs engineers will have a large cadre from Penn State. That means it will be a top source for engineering talent and everyone will recruit there. The USNews ranking may not matter, but connections could matter a lot.

what about competition from colleges in pa.

like: Drexel, UPitt, Temple, Carniege, etc
