I'm not doing too well in my Asian History class and I was wondering wich would look worse: getting a "C" in that class, or withdrawing and getting a "W" on my transcript? I've already withdrawed from 2 classes this semester but am getting A's in all of my other classes (Abnormal Psychology, History of Film, Intro to Psych). Will this affect hurt my chances of getting into UCLA/UCB as a psychology major?

getting a C should hurt ur chance but gettin 3 W in da semester is ganna hurt ur chance also. If u juss get a C in history and 3 A's ur GPA will be fine.

phiur,
Have you already applied for the UC & just waiting on the acceptance letters? If so than a W is much worse than a C & here is the reason why:
-If you are going to drop the class then you are required to let the UC know immediately, which means they will be alerted during the review process of your application. If you think you might get a C then it will not come out until they request transcripts after you have already been accepted & a C is never a cause for an acceptance to be rescinded so if that is the case for you, my advice is to keep the C.

and if u transfer thats one less class you have to take care of....

Psychology is pretty impacted at both of those schools so I would definitely recommend against dropping with a "W". Instead, just take the "C" and hope you get accepted because the only time this "C" will be a problem for you is if you try to appeal.

If you had no W's for the semester I'd tell you to take the W, but I don't think you should be sending them another. One W is nothing but 3 in a semester isn't great.

I havn't applied to any schools yet, but will next fall.

what if he was to have 2 Ws or a C?

W's are better than Cs imo, especially if you have a good GPA.
