What's the most homeschooler-friendly ivy?

Good question!!

I know that Harvard, Princeton & Brown are very receptive to homeschoolers. I've heard that Yale is harder, simply because they ask for at least two academic recommendations.

But if you're looking for statistical averages, I have no idea!

Oh...and don't forget Stanford! It's not an Ivy, but they're very homeschool friendly, as is Duke! :)

Kelly

I know Princeton has six in the Class of 2009.
Columbia admitted three for the class of 2009 but I'm not sure if they matriculated.
They also admitted my S even though he had only three SAT 2 tests (they ask for five).

We had heard that Brown was the most homeschool friendly but they rejected my S. The best advice is to apply to at least three Ivies.

I think asking for two academic recommendations is fairly common, not anything peculiar to Yale.

I've heard of homeschoolers at every Ivy, so I don't know if there is a homeschooler-friendliest one. The fate of one's application depends on more than that. For instance, my daughter got into Brown but not Penn, but I've heard from someone whose daughter had the reverse experience.

This article in the Prince may me interesting to some.

only 8 homeschoolers at Princeton?

No.......

The #s were compiled from "Facebook online profiles" so they weren't representative of homeschooled members of the Princeton community.

from the Prince...."While only eight students list "Home Educated" in the Princeton Facebook, an estimated one million to two million middle and high school students nationwide are currently educated at home."

I counted five or six alone from a hard copy of the Princeton Facebook from the class of 09 in which my son is a member. Remember that is from the class of 2009 only. I would bet admissions is pretty consistent from year to year at about five per class.

They've all been sufficiently receptive for a PREPARED homeschooled applicant for a long time.

http://learninfreedom.org/colleges_4_hmsc.html

But the key is preparing well for such highly selective colleges. The Ivy League colleges get lots of applicants, and lots of homeschooled applicants, and they can't admit everyone who applies. So the applicant is well advised to do something early on in "high school" studies or activities that stands out.
