Undergrad: Princeton, or Dartmouth
Grad School: Columbia (where I am now!), or Penn

I don’t see the purpose of answering the question if the reputations and locations are the same, since these things are what gives the university or college flavor. For instance, I went to a small women’s college in a large urban city. The city made students leave on the weekends when I wanted more campus life, and if I got the chance to choose again I would choose a college in a small college town that had a vibrant campus life. I also live nearby Princeton now and the town is very beautiful, and it’s so easy to get to New York from there as well as Philadelphia. Dartmouth has great school spirit and a strong department in my field.

On the other hand, being in a city for grad school was important for me, because besides my research area being urban adolescence I also feel like I could grow more as an adult and a person in an urban area. I absolutely love New York and Columbia has the perfect program for me, hence Columbia. Philadephia is also one of my favorite cities and Penn also has some great programs in my field, so that is a close second. Yale would be a good third (actually, Stanford would be better).

For the prestige, I think I’ll go with Harvard Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Penn, and Cornell.
