And really hoping to get a financial aid. Not even expecting a full ride, I just hope to get some $ to take the financial burden off for my parents... around $15000~20000
would be awesome...
Which school should I apply for? I am thinking about attending liberal arts
but don't exactly know which school I would be able to get a financial aid.

Schools that I am thinking...
- Amherst
- Williams
- Weslyan
- Carleton
- Vassar
- Grinnell
- Colgate
- Colby

Thanks in advance... your help would be much appreciated...
p.s. You could recommend me other LAC's that I don't have on the list that you think i would be able to get a financial aid.

For international relations you should look at Middlebury! But for possible merit aid Grinnell is probably the best option of those listed. Check out the threads on aid for international students. Pennsylvania liberal arts colleges (which would be a little more conservative than schools like Vassar and Wesleyan if you don’t mind that or want that) might be of interest----Lafayette, Lehigh, Bucknell, Franklin and Marshall. Ursinus is supposed to have good merit aid. Also take a look at Trinity in Connecticut.

Bucknell, Holy Cross.

Richmond - They have Int’l relations, merit aid (apply by 12/1 for automatic consideration), and warmer weather. Lifting your SAT scores would definitely help with scholarship consideration.

Grinnell is a good choice and I would add Macalester, as another match, to your list. Both schools are 11-12% international students and both offer generous merit and financial aid. Grinnell-in-Washington also provides an opportunity to spend a semester studying and interning in Washington DC. And being Asian in the mid-west helps, unlike on the east and west coast. Amherst and Williams are definitely going to be reaches. Middlebury, Wesleyan and Carleton are match/reaches. For Vassar, being male helps so maybe a match there too. Colby would be a match.

Other LACs which might offer good financial/merit aid? Take a look at Hendrix, Rhodes, Lawrence, Beloit, Whitman…These LACs are slightly less selective, so a student with your stats should be appealing.

Public LAC, Geneseo [Geneseo Cited in Latest College Rankings | SUNY Geneseo](http://www.geneseo.edu/news_events/latest-rankings)

Definitely look at Pomona, Middlebury and Bowdoin. Also consider Colorado College, Kenyon, Connecticut College and Hamilton.

Thanks a lot for your help, guys!!!
Really appreciate it… !!!

Since you attend a private school will your family qualify for financial aid? Do you know your EFC? For instance Amherst only offers FA, not merit aid.

I would add Haverford or Macalester to your list to consider.

I’d second Macalester and also add American.

Bowdoin, Middlebury, Hamilton

Oberlin and Kenyon are two more in the midwest to consider.

If you’re eligible for FA/scholarships, Oberlin can be generous IME and those of many younger Oberlin alums if your grades, stats, status of high school attended, and/or some other unique quality is demonstrated.

If you’re applying to schools like Amherst and Williams, definitely look into Pomona. We have a solid IR program and the financial aid is amazing. I’m receiving nearly a full-ride to attend, which is still incredible to me.
