Which language for Huntsman?

I'm thinking of applying for the Huntsman program, and since we have to continue our studies in the specified language, I'm having trouble deciding which one to put down - French or Mandarin.

For Mandarin, I'm very fluent in speaking, and good in listening; also I took my SAT II in that language and got an 800. However, I quit Chinese school when I was 10 so I'm not the best at reading/writing it.

On the other hand, I've studied French for the past 3 years in high school, and it's the opposite. I'm good at reading/writing, but my speaking/listening certainly isn't on the same level as my Mandarin.

So, advice? Which language should I continue my studies in?

Chinese will far more useful in the future economy. Since you're (I'm assuming) a native speaker, relearning the intricacies shouldn't be a problem at all.

don't worry too much about that, most people end up changing the target language
