Just purchased a Sony FW 490 w P8800 Processor; 4 gb memory; 1 gb dedicated video memory (could be very important); blueray; 1080 HD 16.4" screen; and just under $1,000.

I talked to my parents about using financial aid money for the laptop, but apparently they don’t want me to get a good one, they’re afraid I’ll spend too much time gaming in college…

haha thats what my parents were at first but I won them over by saying that cheap laptop will last 1-2 years. While the high end ones will last me throughout undergrad. I didn’t lie and they are letting me get some expensive laptop now.

And Im only planning to game after i finish my homework! maybe :D

Out of all parts processor has the longest lifetime
What i meant by 1-2 years is that I wouldn’t be able to run new games and I would be looking to upgrade in like 2 years.

Laptop going dead is sudden. It can work fine yesterday and 1 part fail the next morning. Especially if you have a high end laptop, you need to watch the temperature so it doesn’t go over the safe zone.

dude, macs are very good, i wouldnt say superior because every brand has its pros and cons. but macs are very reliable and durable- thats a fact.

its just the price If a Mac is 1200 and windows is 800 and has the same feature its still going to do the same thing why waste the 400 dollars to join the Mac Cult

exactly, All Mac has is that clean look, longer battery life and a bit more portability. About being reliable and durable, it depends on how the owner is taking care of the laptop.

I rather take a Windows to save money, run more intensive programs, and to know that what I have is universal.
