Which Laptop would you choose?

Toshiba - Portege Laptop / Intel® Core™ i5 Processor / 13.3" Display / 4GB Memory / 640GB Hard Drive - Blue - R835-P70

or

Apple® - MacBook® Pro / Intel® Core™ i5 Processor / 13.3" Display / 4GB Memory / 320GB Hard Drive - MC700LL/A

I will be going to school for an Accounting Degree. I will be using the laptop in school for Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Notes, Research, etc. I will be listening to music, streaming and watching movies. I would only use it for light gaming, if any at all. I have heard that both manufacturers are pretty reliable when it comes to laptops. It seems Apple has the better Customer Service. I will probably be dragging it to every one of my classes. Money isn't a big issue. However, if I get the MBP, I would be ordering it from Apple.com and the closest Apple Store to me is 100 miles.

I will be buying a laptop within the week and thought I'd give one last shot at getting some opinions before I take the plunge.

Thanks for any of your Opinions and Suggestions.

Get the MacBook Pro. They last forever…mine is a year old and it still consistently outperforms all of my friends’ PCs. The battery life is awesome…mine lasts up to 9 hours. If you want to type with the lights off, you have no idea how much you will love that backlit keyboard. I touch type and I never realized how nice it is. The PC is probably plastic and the MacBook Pro is made of aluminum and just feels like better quality…plus you can run Lion OSX and whatever version of Windows you like (or multiple versions) on the mac… and you’re definitely not running OSX on the PC.

MacBooks are great, but lots of accounting software is windows only. While you can run windows natively on a MacBook, friends have complained that the lack of a windows keyboard can limiting.

I have a Toshiba laptop, and it’s great!

I say go for the MacBook.

I’d go for the Mac over a Toshiba.

The MacBook will be much better built, and the shortage of hard-disk storage compared to the Toshiba will most likely be a complete non-issue.

It should run all the accounting software you need, but just in the weird situation that it doesn’t work out, you can use Bootcamp or Parallels to run Windows on it.
