Which Less Selective Schools Could Pull You Away from P'ton, if any?

Which Less Selective Schools Could Pull You Away from P'ton, if any? Just wondering.

well upenn is slightly less selective, and that could maybe pull me away…
hahah other than that it would only be because of $

Maybe Brown. If I was accepted to both places, I’d have an extremely hard time choosing. Would probably decide on Brown (prefer the curriculum style, RISD, etc).
Starting to worry about getting rejected everywhere, though. :(

MIT, possibly. However, it’s not a whole lot less selective. If I’m lucky enough to get accepted to Princeton, I’m going to be sure to visit, and hopefully that will help my decision. It’s getting hard to choose between my top 3 (PSM). Cornell started appealing to me too, but I don’t think I’ll get to visit the campus, and I can’t take that big of a leap of faith.

Unless visiting Princeton drastically changes my mind, I’d choose Chicago.

FightTheTide11, well it seems that you are going to enroll at Princeton.

I eliminated Princeton before Columbia, so I guess if it came down to those I would have gone to Columbia. If I had applied (and gotten in, of course) I probably would have gone to Brown over Princeton as well - but who knows…

a Swarthmore acceptance would cause my son to make a difficult decision if he is also accepted to Princeton

in my case, UCLA and UC Berkeley…

I’ve have an offer from UMd for free Tuition, fees, room, board, books, PLUS $3K/year … for 4 years … this is tempting no matter what other offers I get … exactly how much (in dollars) is a Princeton undergraduate degree worth … OVER and above one from a high ranked state school like UMd, when my ultimate goal is an MD/PhD? Opinions welcome …

MIT/Caltech

I would have to revisit both, but I’m pretty sure Columbia would.

@plumazul:
the offer from UMd might be tempting but if you get accepted to princeton, you might as well go there. Princeton is very generous with their financial aid so its something you should consider. you might have to take out small loans to cover up some expenses but its worth it in my opinion.

@aznjunior:
i should have applied to MIT… they should have been a member of commonapp, otherwise, i would have applied there.

Nowhere. If I could get into princeton, it would easily be my top choice (only competitor to me would be Yale, which is not less selective).

@ithacakid:

are you from ithaca NY? if so, did you apply to cornell?

Berkeley Regents will definitely pull me away

University of Alaska.

Northwestern, Oberlin, Brown, Columbia, JHU… it’s pretty much at the bottom of my list

Rice…

@plumazka… if u wanna do MD eventually, take the UMD offere hands down… it will be stupid to spend 200 k when u can get undergrad free…especially since all you care about would be getting admission to med school. + coz of the fact that u will be in top 5% at UMD… u will have better chances, better GPA for med school…
