Someone told me that letter recs would look stronger depending on which teacher you're asking to write for you and your major of choice. In this case, he seems to say that a rec from english and apush for example wouldn't be good for a guy like me who might be interested to major in biology. Although, in my opinion it would be nice to have a science rec I think everyone gets recs from them.

This junior year, my apush teacher was amazed at my work ethic improvement so she basically told me she's going to write for me even though I didn't ask. Likewise for English class.. and to my amazement I was the first one to ask for a recommendation since a lot of people in my class hate my English teacher.

Basically my two strongest, most convincing letters are in the non-sciences and would you guys consider this to be better than just having a science rec for one of them? I'm wondering if its okay or even to my advantage to have recs from the hardest teachers on campus over recommendations that might "supplement" the fact I'm going to be a bio major.
