Which level of schools should I be looking at?

I'd rather not go into any detailed "chance me" thread. I just wanted to get an idea of which schools are at my level and which are within reach.

3.6 UW GPA
4.55 SC WGPA
8/325 class rank
2040 SAT (650R, 720M, 670W)
Retaking this Oct, realistically 2100-2150.
Waiting on ACT w/ Writing scores. Most likely 30-32.

IB Diploma Candidate
Hardest course load possible (15 APs and IBs and 9 Honors)
AP Scholar with Honor
President of Mu Alpha Theta
VP of NHS

Part time job 20+ hours a week
50 volunteer hours
I've started a small business selling sunglasses.

I want to major in Finance preferably, but Economics would also be a good option. Although financial aid is a bit of a concern, I just want to get a general idea of what kind of match/reach schools I should be aiming at.

So which schools are at or slightly above my level?

Assuming you intend to go to school in Boston, given your screen name:
BU is a match
Northeastern is a high match
BC is a low reach

Your expected scores are irrelevant. Come back when you get the fall test results.

Also, your stated EC’s are minimal, please elaborate.

Although I do like a number of schools in the northeast, I don’t plan to restrict my search to Boston.

I didn’t want to go into extensive detail because I don’t believe my ECs are extraordinary in any way, but if they’ll help:

Palmetto Boys State delegate
National Honor Society, 2 years, Vice President
Mu Alpha Theta math honor society, 2 years, President
Beta Club 3 years
Junior Marshall (usher at graduation for top 15 students)
Future Business Leaders of America
2 years of JV Lacrosse
2 years of V Tennis (Most Sportsmanlike Athlete)
50+ volunteer hours at humane society
20+ volunteer hours at soup kitchens, special Olympics
VBS Co-counselor
Planned and started my own sunglasses sales business
Technology Efficient Home tour guide
I’ve worked at a movie theater (April-now), 20hrs/week during school, 35/wk during summer. (Employee of the month, May)

Since all my future scores are speculative, disregard those for now.

And thanks again, I hope this extra information helped.

Holy Cross, Colgate both top 25 LAC’S with great combination of academics/social life. HC is 1 hour from Boston.

As someone who wants to go into finance I would think FA would be more than a “bit of a concern”.

I have a financial safety.

My parents are divorced and do not make a lot, so realistically, and according to financial aid calculators, I should receive a decent amount from some of these schools.

This will factor into my final decision, but I would be willing to take on a small amount of debt if I felt it was worth it.

So again, which schools are in my range? Obviously the Ivies are unrealistic, but which schools are realistic?

Try Colgate, it’s a feeder school for finance and within range for you as long as you reach a 2100.

I assume you specifically want to leave SC? Just be sure you run numbers at these other schools. You look on track to be palmetto fellow - that’s a decent amount of money to walk away from. D had friend in finance/business who is really happy at University of Richmond in VA - not sure about financial aid or merit opportunities.

I hope SC and Clemson would be on your list.

I’m not too interested in U South Carolina, but Clemson is my safety.

Richmond looks very nice. Any other suggestions?
