Does which major you pick affect your chances of getting into certain college? I wrote down Human biology, health, and society as my intended major for Human Ecology but I heard it's extremely competetive. Can somebody confirm this or refute it.

Yes, which major you pick does have an affect on your chances. I applied to AEM which is the single most difficult major to make.

But aren't majors changeable throughout though? Say if I change my major in the middle of my freshment year, how would that be taken into consideration?

It doesn't matter once you get in.

Yes, but what about how will it affect chances for admission? If my intended major is particularly competetive, will that have any effect on admission?

what do you mean by competitive? as in the applicant pool is strong and the acceptance rate is low? well then, yeah, it will affect admission.

What I mean by competetive is that there are of people planning on majoring in the same field. My question is that if the chance of admission will be affected by the number of applicants intending on majoring in the same field.

I don't know about human EC, I know in CALS you compete against people applying to the same major, sorry.

I've read there are around 25 students in the graduating class for Engineering Physics. Asking this question is kinda pointless seeing that i already sent in my app., but I applied for EP. Is it highly competitive to get into?

Spanks, would it be too much to ask, say, for you could go around and ask any of the HumEd students who are majoring in Human Bio, Health, and Society what some of their scores are? If so, just say "no".

some of the schools break it down by major for admissions (i know CAS doesn't) so it does affect you depending on which college you apply to. I'm not sure about HE but i know CALS does and I would guess that applies to all the contract colleges.

Hm... as an innocent eavesdropper who applied ED to CALS, what would you say are the more popular majors? I would guess (and have been made to understand) animal sciences (my first choice) and biological sciences (my second choice) are two rather popular majors~
