Which math class did you take in your senior year of high school before getting admitted to an Ivy?

I was just wondering what math class people took in their senior year of high school before getting into an Ivy League School (preferably Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, etc.). Thanks for the answers!

why are you asking the same question? The vast majority are going to tell you “Calc BC”. Or if their school doesn’t offer it, something else, likely at a lower level. This isn’t an arms race.

I would clearly postulate those accepted would have taken a calculus class

I took intermediate algebra :)

<a href=“The Harvard Crimson | Class of 2017”>http://features.thecrimson.com/2013/frosh-survey/academics.html</a> indicates that Harvard frosh in 2013 had the following level of math completed in high school:

0.8% less than precalculus
5.2% precalculus[1]
31.9% AB calculus
42.2% BC calculus
15.8% multivariable calculus or linear algebra
4.1% past multivariable calculus and linear algebra

[1] This is the normal level of progress for college bound students in US high schools, but, obviously, most Harvard frosh are more advanced than the normal level.

I doubt the OP will even see this based on his last log-in date, but that’s okay. OP, the fact that you mention strictly “Ivy Leagues” in your title and then proceed to refer to Stanford as an Ivy League school is clear indication that you haven’t done your research about colleges. I can also see that you’re very stuck on solely the Ivy League (and I suppose Stanford) in general, according to all of your Ivy-centric threads. Why the Ivy obsession when there’s plenty of other schools (12, in fact) in the top 20 rankings that are very distinguished as well and can provide equally incredible educations? MIT? Duke? UChicago? Caltech? Really, out of all the great colleges out there, you ONLY want to go to Ivies + Stanford? I’m surprised no one on your other threads has called you out for listing Stanford as an “Ivy League school”… or perhaps they have, and I just missed it.

You’ve also posted 7 threads about nearly the exact same topics: getting into Ivy League schools based on math classes taken in high school. Do you not have plenty of people’s opinions on the matter already?

@NASA2014 Nooooot sure why you dug this thread up from the grave and revived it.

Post #4 pretty much answers the question for Harvard and peer schools. Given that the question is answered and that this thread is old, I am closing it.
