Which math course for BizEcon?

I'm going to be transferring to one of the UC's two years from now. I start school at community college this fall.
But, I'm not sure which math course to take.

Ideally I'd like to get into UCLA. For bizecon, they require Calculus I and Calc II.
But for all the other schools, I can take Business Calculus I and II, which seems easier, but UCLA will not accept it.

I took AP Calculus AB in high school, but got a C. :/
I'm good at math, but I didn't do well in trig, so I'm starting over -- taking math courses from Trig and working my way back up to Calc, like a review basically to better learn it again.

So, should I NOT apply to UCLA and just take the Biz Calc courses or should I take the reg. calc. ?

Also, I dont know if this is true, but it seems like the regular calculus courses might look better on my transcript. --But also, a B in regular calc would probably look worse than an A in Biz calc.

Thank you!

Oh also… some schools don’t have BizEcon, so I’ll be majoring in either Econ or BizEcon.

you answered your own question. You want to go to UCLA, therefore you should take the classes that they require.

In almost every case, the programs that need Business Cal will take traditional Cal. The programs that require Cal, will usually not accept the Business sequence…

Take Calc. Biz Econ is one of the most competitive majors to be admitted to at UCLA, especially for transfers, and so you don’t want any extra weaknesses you can avoid otherwise.

thanks guys! I guess I already knew the answer pretty much like kgoscohockey said, but I just wanted to hear it from someone else.

You should find a VERY GOOD professor for Calc 1 and 2. A good professor in Calc 1 and 2 will be much easier than a crappy professor in Biz Calc.
