Which med schools accept int'l students....and how many are accepted?

I know that many med schools do not accept int'l students (heck, some don't accept OOS domestic students), but which ones do? and, how many would each accept? 5? more? less?

and...

if the estimation is that about 50% of domestic students get rejected from med schools, what would be the estimate for int'l applicants?

Buy an msar for exact values, but mostly privates and usually no for than a dozen perhaps. I believe the non canadian acceptance rate is vet, very small.

IIRC, Yale is about 6% Canadian and there are a few (3 or 4) other internationals for the Class of 2014-ish.

I don’t really want to know for myself…my child is a US Citizen. I was just wondering because some int’l students have asked on CC, so I was wondering what the facts are.

edited to add…

Thanks Curmy…

Boy, if Yale has only admitted 3 or 4 non-Canadian int’ls…that is very few.

Small class. Just a hundred kids total. Added to the Canucks , that’s 10%. Dartmouth gets a lot of Canadian apps, too.

I wonder why these med schools tend to favor Canadian students over other int’l students. Is there some kind of US/Canadian agreement or something? Is Canada subsidizing these kids?
