Which ND dorm is the best?

Now I know that I'm probably gonna get alot of biased opinions for posting this; but what male Resident Hall do you think is the best? I was looking at their web pages online and I kind of like Alumni and Dillion Hall...

Doesn't matter what you like. Your dorm and room assignment are randomly assigned, with the only factor in dorm assignments being they ensure you are NOT assigned with someone with a zip code anything like yours. They take absolutely nothing else into consideration except for extremely rare exceptions. Part of what makes the Notre Dame family a family is their forcing you to live wherever they assign you and with whoever they assign you and you will almost always love it anyway.

On this you can be sure: it does not matter which dorm you end up in, because to you it will be the best dorm and you will never wish you were anywhere else (well, you might wish to have air conditioning if you're in one without it, but you would just want it in your dorm, not want to go live in a different dorm).

It works out amazingly well. Most kids stay in the same dorm all four years, and usually try to get on the same wing with the same group of kids they started out with freshman year.

Docmoms right, you will think that your dorm is the best no matter which one you get. They are really competitive with intramural sports and things like that. There are no fraternities or sororities at ND, but the dorms are practically the same thing, or so I've heard.

Does anyone know if the twin beds in the dorms are regular size?

they are longer a little longer than normal twin beds

Ha, thats good. I hate when my feet hang off the end of beds. haha

But I'm curious as to which residential halls dont have air conditioning... i know i dont have a choice where im put, but i was just wondering.

well my friend, your in luck http://orlh.nd.edu/halls/

click on each one and it has all the info on them (air conditioning, history, ect.)

I live in O'Neill, so of course I think that it is the best, but I have reason to as well. Due to my lottery number as a transfer, I had my pick of dorms and O'Neill was one of my choices (I gave a top 3). It was built in 1996 so it is still fairly new, it has air conditioning and modular furniture (trust me, you want it). What more can you ask for...oh, and it is close to DeBartolo hall and the South dining hall!

just stayed in dillon, I was in a freshman triple. It was really close to South Dining hall and I loved the location, but in general the rooms in Dillon are the smallest on campus.
