The majority of Scrippsies do not choose to participate in the 5-C housing exchange, primarily because Scripps housing is among the best of the Claremonts. Additionally, finding someone who would like to switch with you is not always easy, and finding a Scrippsie who wants to live on another campus is even more difficult. The majority of the women I have met in my first year at Scripps have absolutely adored their women's college experience and would never consider moving off-campus. Let me know if you have any more questions about housing, I'm more than willing to answer!

Also, as an aside, many of the women at Scripps ended up choosing between an east coast women's college (mainly Wellesley, Smith, and Mount Holyoke). I chose Scripps over MHC for a number of reasons but mainly because I preferred the women's college experience but with close contact with the other four colleges. The suburban atmosphere was also a plus - I've lived in a smallish town my entire life and know what commuting is like, so I much preferred to be in a more suburban area.
