Which of my schools prefer both SAT/ACT?

<p>I will certainly take the SAT in March but I just read that there's a ACT testing date in April. Which of my 10 out of state schools would prefer (or raise my chances) for having both?</p>

San Diego State
San Jose State
Cal Poly SLO
Cal Poly Pomona
UC Irvine (biggie/top choice)
Univ. of Houston
UT Austin
Univ. of Illinois Chicago
UW Seattle</p>

<p>Sorry if my question sounds really vague or confusing but I'm deciding whether I should spend the extra $35 based on the feedback I get here. Thanks!</p>

<p>All that you list readily accept either without preference except Cal Poly SLO states a preference for the ACT. Even there though the SAT is fine. You should not act based on any assumption that you must take one test rather than the other. Take one and score high and you do not need the other.</p>

<p>@drusba, Oh, misunderstanding but I WILL take the SAT no matter what, I’m just wondering if the ACT is worth the extra time and money</p>

<p>It would be if you generally get a better comparable score on the ACT than on the SAT. You may want to take 1 or 2 ACT sample tests to determine whether or not that’s the case.</p>

<p>^ LOL! can’t say i disagree… lsn, just pass ur SAT’s… Then we’ll talk about ACT alrights?
Take an ACT prac test to see for urself if u can ace it… And submitting both won’t do harm… It would if they’re both mediocre… cuz u concentrated on too many things… In that situation, it wud have been waaaay better if u just concentrated on practicing only one…
So heads up, ace that SAT then think of the rest…

<p>I have three SAT books coming in the mail and I’m going to sign up for March! Many of my schools don’t care which one I take but the SAT seems more popular so i’ll go for that first. and like you said, consider the ACT at a later date x)</p>
