I'm currently applying for a Questbridge scholarship, and out of its partner colleges, Amherst, Bowdoin, Princeton, Vassar, and Wesleyan are the ones I'm considering. Which of these colleges has the best undergraduate English program with an emphasis on creative writing? Or even, which one has the best English program? I'd like to major in English with a creative writing emphasis, but I'm having a hard time distinguishing which colleges would be the best in order to achieve this.

The top LACs generally have strong English programs, but of those, Amherst’s is the best. I’m not sure about Princeton’s English program, however.

Unless you want to do English research, it probably won’t make much of a difference which school you go to. If you want the best fallback options after undergrad in the business world, Princeton and Amherst will set you up best with a good paying job, assuming you do the right stuff while in college.
