Which of the SAT II's should I take?

I am currently planning on taking Math II, US History, Physics, Spanish, and/or Literature, but are there any specific ones I should take? Do college look at some differently or is their some difference in the difficulty between tests? Thanks.

Advice with regards to each test:

Math II - Pretty difficult content-wise but it’s a straightforward test with a generous curve. If you’ve taken precalc and done well then this should be a piece of cake. It’s the better of the two math tests by far. I didn’t take it because I’m no good at math, but everyone I know who took it did very well.

US History - Take only if you have done AP. They tend to ask quite a few really specific questions that make getting an 800 tricky but getting a good score isn’t hard if you know most to the content in AP. I get a 790 on this and a lot of people from my school have gotten very high scores as well. I recommend this one.

Physics - I hear that this test is graded pretty generously and doesn’t require much problem solving. As long as you know the content the problems can be solved fairly easily. However, you don’t get a calculator. My friend got an 800 but I don’t know any other scores because most people at my school take AP Physics senior year.

Literature - Hard as hell, to be honest. It’s like the SAT CR on steroids. If you’re good at reading tests then go for it because a high score on this one is pretty impressive and pretty rare. The fact at AP English Literature is mostly a senior course only adds to this. I got pretty lucky and pulled a 790 but most people don’t do so hot on this one. Only take it if you’re really good at the subject or are sure you don’t have a better test to take.

You can only take 3 tests at once, so if I was you I would drop Literature. The only reason to take it would be if you’re really confident about it or really shaky about another subject. Honestly, I only took Literature because I was signed up for 2 other tests and had nothing else to take; I’m really shocked about my score.

Thanks for the advice. I didn’t know that I can take multiple tests in one day, so I guess I might as well try all of the tests.

^You can only take three in a day, and recommend no more than two, at least if you’re taking them all for the first time and haven’t done massive quantities of prep.

I agree with Grape1.

To add to her list:

-Literature: too hard. I honestly took this test with the mindset that if I was a good reader/writer, I should do fine, but no. I completely failed.

-Chem: Super easy if you study hard. I took AP chem right before I took the test, and I studied with an SAT prep book as well.

-Bio: Definitely manageable. If you have taken an AP course beforehand, I’d suggest choosing molecular for the test. Ecology is easier, but less widely known.

take whichever subjects youre good at. i took us history ap level and took history sat and did well. if you are applying for any math/science/business program they def wanna see math2c
